Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using GitLookout ("the Service," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Description of Service
GitLookout is a developer dashboard platform that provides real-time visualization, monitoring, and analytics for your GitHub repositories and related development tools. The Service integrates with third-party APIs (including GitHub, Sentry, and AI providers) to display data on your behalf.
GitLookout does not store, copy, or retain the contents of your repositories, source code, issues, pull requests, commits, or any other repository data. All such data is fetched in real-time from the respective APIs and displayed to you without persistence.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using GitLookout, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
3. Account Registration and Security
3.1 Account Creation
You may create an account using GitHub OAuth, Google OAuth, or email/password authentication. You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information during registration.
The Service also offers a 'Join with GitHub' feature that initiates a one-time GitHub OAuth authorization (with read:org scope only) to discover existing GitHub App installations in your organizations. By using this feature, you authorize GitLookout to query your GitHub organization memberships. The OAuth token obtained during this process is used exclusively for discovery and is immediately discarded, it is never stored or reused.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- All activities that occur under your account.
- Notifying us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.
- Maintaining the security of the devices and browsers used to access GitLookout, including keeping software up to date and using appropriate security measures.
We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to secure your account.
3.3 API Tokens and Keys
When you connect third-party accounts (GitHub, Sentry) or provide API keys (for AI features), you are responsible for ensuring that:
- You have the authority to use those tokens and keys.
- The tokens have appropriate permissions and scopes.
- You comply with the terms of service of the respective third-party provider.
GitLookout acts as an intermediary for data provided by third-party APIs. We are not responsible for any rate-limiting, account suspensions, or data loss occurring on third-party platforms (including but not limited to GitHub or Sentry) as a result of your use of the Service.
3.4 Token Security & Authorized Access
You are solely responsible for safeguarding any Personal Access Tokens (PATs), API keys, or other credentials you provide to GitLookout. You must keep these credentials confidential, use tokens with the minimum necessary permissions (we recommend read-only), and promptly revoke and replace any token you suspect has been compromised. GitLookout is not liable for any unauthorized access resulting from your failure to protect your credentials.
You agree to use GitLookout only to access repositories, organizations, and data for which you have proper authorization. You shall not use the Service to monitor, access, or attempt to access any repository or resource that you do not own or have explicit permission to view. Violation of this clause may result in immediate termination of your account and may be reported to the relevant third-party platform.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Service to access repositories or data that you are not authorized to view.
- Attempt to circumvent any security measures, rate limits, or access controls.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others.
- Use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Transmit any malware, viruses, or other harmful code through the Service.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service beyond its intended use.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service without our written consent.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
We further reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, to limit, suspend, or terminate access to the Service for any user whose usage patterns, in our reasonable opinion, adversely affect the performance of the Service, pose a security risk, or violate these Terms. This includes, but is not limited to, excessive API consumption, automated abuse, or any activity that degrades service quality for other users.
5. Service Plans and Payments
5.1 Free and Paid Plans

This means Lemon Squeezy is the entity that collects your payment and handles billing, invoicing, taxes (including VAT and sales tax), and refund processing on our behalf.
GitLookout does not store, process, or have access to your credit card number, billing address, or any other payment details. All payment information is collected and stored exclusively by Lemon Squeezy in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.
By subscribing to a paid plan, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's Terms of Service (lemonsqueezy.com/terms) and Privacy Policy (lemonsqueezy.com/privacy).
